  The CCI France Canada – Montréal is hosting the next edition of its Vous lancer au Canada conference, gathering experts and entrepreneurs to share real-life experiences and advice for expanding and growing across Canada.

  As part of this event, Christine Socasau, Executive Director of the CCI France Western Canada, will speak on the theme:
  Go West. Grow West. Understanding the Dynamics and Opportunities in Western Canada.

  Drawing from firsthand experience and a comparative look between Eastern and Western Canada, Christine will highlight:

  • The economic trends and innovation sectors shaping Western provinces;

  • The differences and complementarities with Montréal’s more familiar business landscape;

  • The evolving reality of Francophone immigration and workforce development in the West;

  • Why now is the right time for companies and investors to look West.

  CCI France Western Canada is pleased to announce the kick-off meeting of the Energy & Natural Resources Committee, led by Emmanuel Giry.

  Committee Scope

  The committee will focus on fostering dialogue, partnerships, and innovation in key industries central to our economies and the energy transition. Its scope includes:

  Energy

  • Extraction and processing of energy resources: oil and gas, coal, uranium

  • Power generation from non-renewable (coal, gas, nuclear) and renewable (solar, wind, geothermal, hydro) sources

  • Energy storage and transmission

  Non-Energy Resources

  • Mining industry (metals, rare earth elements, diamonds, etc.)

  • Forestry industry

  Agenda

  • Member introductions: background, expertise, interests, and potential contributions

  • Discussion of the Committee Charter:

  1. Definition of the committee scope
  2. Logistical aspects (meeting frequency, recurring agenda, etc.)
  3. Vision and objectives

  • Brainstorming session: ideas for short- and medium-term events or initiatives to generate meaningful content and engagement

  This first meeting will set the foundation for a collaborative, cross-sector platform dedicated to knowledge sharing, innovation, and Franco-Canadian cooperation in energy and natural resources.

  The committee is open to Chamber members, but if you’re not yet a member, you’re still welcome to join this kickoff call to learn more and decide if you’d like to get involved.

  This informal videoconference is a great opportunity to connect, exchange ideas, and help shape the committee’s priorities for 2026.
